Senior News: Random Acts of Kindness

For several years, the Brighton Senior Center has led the community in a Random Acts of Kindness campaign. It’s all about showing the kindness of the Brighton community and sharing with others. We’ll be collecting the following items February 4-8. Everyone is welcome to drop off items at 575 Bush. Special thanks to the Brighton High School Girls Basketball Team for volunteering to deliver the donated goods to the different agencies.
“Valentine of Love” – make valentines for our friends in nursing homes.
“Toiletries for the Homeless” – bring new toiletry items for area homeless people.
“Help our Schools” – School supplies collected for local school children in need.
“Project Valentine” – Gift items for people receiving chemotherapy on Valentine’s Day. Suggested items include: healthy snacks, journals, stationery, playing cards, gift cards, knitted scarf or hat – for kids suggest small toys, books, stuffed animals, puzzles.
“Canned Food Drive” – Canned goods, pasta – things that can be distributed though the food pantries in town.
Cell Phone HelpTechnology is tough and cell phones are too! Is your cell phone driving you crazy? Do you have a question about it? Seniors… bring your cell phone with you and we’ll head over by van to Brighton High School for a fun and informative time. Let’s let the experts show us how to work those phones. Tuesday, February 5, 10-11 am. Please sign-up by Friday, February 1.
