Hello Brighton. I am an artist. Please, reserve no stereotypes of me for this….I am not starving, nor am I snobbish out of arrogance. I was born this way, and I am wanting to share with you what I know about the creative goings-on of Brighton, and the Denver metropolitan area.
For instance, if you haven’t already met them, I’d like to introduce you to The Other Side Arts (TOSA), a nonprofit art gallery and organization dedicated to creating a brighter future for us all. TOSA gives adults, and children, workshop opportunities to expand upon their creative curiosities. TOSA has a 15,000 square foot facility in LoDo, Denver, and was recently awarded a 9,500 square foot facility in Aurora’s downtown as part of the city’s revitalization efforts. TOSA throws events occasionally. This January 4th, they will be kicking off the new year with the Arts in the City event, an evening with the artists that run this great arts organization. Food will be provided by Gourmet Fine Catering- Ales by Flying Dog brewery, spirits by Pravda. Musical guest are yet to be announced. Starting at 9p.m., it makes for a great after party to the First Friday art gallery openings in the area. Their LoDo address for that event is 1644 Platte Street.
One more thing that may interest you culturally: whether you are an aspiring visual artist, an avid art collector, or would just love to peruse the work of hundreds of local Colorado artists,visit DenverArtists.com This online community is home to 400 Colorado artists, and 3500 original pieces of art….and growing. DenverArtists.com has an events calendar and postings area, that are always up-to-date….as the artistic community updates this themselves.
