SISTERS OF SUCCESS present...

The Sisters of Success, one of Brighton’s newest civic women’s organizations is putting their stamp on helping some of Adams County’s most deserving children have a much better summer. It all started at one of their bi-monthly meetings. The curtain had just come down on their annual Business Expo which produced $1400 for the new Boys & Girls Club in Brighton when one of the members suggested that assisting some of Adams County’s foster children would be a good next project to pursue. Within a short period of time, this energetic group had received an organized list from the Adams County Social Services Department of more than 160 children with their ages, heights, and specific needs.

Here’s the goal. The Sisters of Success want to raise approximately $8,000 to buy new bikes, trikes and scooters for these 160 children. There’s going to be an Ice Cream Social on July 11th at Bella Sera Event Center to present the bikes to the children as well as having a simulated street scene for them to practice their biking and triking skills with the aid of some local police personnel to get them started on the right path. There will also be smaller gift items for the foster families biological children, so that no child goes without. Those that have donated will be invited to attend the Ice Cream Social to be able to share in the experience of their giving.

Any donation that could be made would be much appreciated by these well deserving foster children. While their lives have been challenged, they will have an opportunity to receive a “Christmas in July” gift they may remember for the rest of their lives. Success takes many forms and Brighton’s Sisters of Success want to be part of a positive experience for their community. The Sister’s mission statement reads: The Sisters of Success is a group of professional business women, who are building relationships with one another, to empower ourselves to support the community, as well as our businesses. We do more, so that we have more, to give more!
