Continued...Be Sure The Turkey Is The Only Thing You Fry!
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to determine the proper amount of oil to add. If those are not available:
- Place turkey in pot, fill with water until the turkey is covered by about ½ inch of water
- Remove and dry turkey
- Mark water level
- Dump water
- Completely dry the pot, and fill with oil to the marked water level.
- Check the oil temperature frequently
- If oil begins to smoke, immediately turn off gas supply
- If a fire occurs, immediately call 9-1-1. DO NOT attempt to extinguish fire with WATER!For many, Thanksgiving is the date marker for putting up Christmas lights. Be sure that any lights or decorations you put outdoors are intended for outdoor or use. If not, don’t use them outside. Also, check all strings of lights (even new ones) for any signs of wear and tear on the cords. If any wires are showing at all, don’t use them. Finally, don’t leave Christmas decorations on all night long. Turn them off when you go to bed or put them on a timer so they are not constantly on.
Have a safe and happy holiday season. If you have any questions or need guidance on safety for your home, please call us at 303-659-4101.
